Spring Awakening

The overwintered queen bee resumes laying eggs as early as late January. The worker bee eggs she lays hatch into adults after 21 days, taking over the cleaning and brood care duties from the winter bees inside the hive.

By the time the plum blossoms begin to bloom, these young worker bees are ready to take on their first foraging duties. Seizing the opportunity during breaks in the warm spring rain, they excitedly take their very first flights, venturing outside for the first time in their lives. This is how they familiarize themselves with their surroundings.

At BeeCamp, this gentle awakening of spring is unfolding.
